Including a gender perspective in ITU\u2019s work is essential to ensure that gender equality is a core consideration in ITU\u2019s strategic plans, activities, programmes, and procedures.<br><br>Here are some key steps we have taken where you can support us:    <\/p>\n                    <div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>Ensuring that every stage of the planning is worked from a gender perspective; making participants aware and part of this process.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>Promoting equal representation of men and women.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>Improving the participation of women in ITU decision-making processes.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>Advancing gender&nbsp;mainstreaming in Council outcomes (Resolutions and Decisions).<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>Promoting transparency and accountability through tracking and reporting data and information before, during and after the event.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>Working to ensure all attendees experience an event free from harassment, sexism, or discrimination by providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, giving women spaces to step up their influence in the decision-making process and networking.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>                        <p>\n        In 2023, ITU celebrated the 25th anniversary of Resolution 70 &#8211; affirming ITU&#8217;s commitment to include a gender perspective throughout its work and activities.<br><br>Learn more about the first women to hold leadership positions in ITU&#8217;s statutory bodies and conferences over the past twenty-five years with this <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/council.itu.int\/2024\/en\/homepage\/gender-responsive-council\/25-years-of-women-stepping-up-at-itu\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"22625\">timeline<\/a><\/strong>.<br><br>More information on ITU&#8217;s efforts in gender equality and mainstreaming can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/action\/gender-equality\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.
